WHAT ARE YOU SWEATING FOR?

Happy Friday, Athletarian community! Toronto’s weather has been an absolute dream lately, filling me with a newfound zest for life. Isn’t it amazing what a bit of sunshine and vitamin D can do for our spirits?

On that bright note, I’m thrilled to announce our collaboration with Sport Chek on their inspiring #SweatForThis campaign! Having eagerly waited to share this news, witnessing the project come to life is immensely fulfilling.

“The soul resides in the sole of your foot. Running defines us.”

Check out this incredible video. And yes, that’s Krysten making an appearance!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be partnering with Sport Chek to delve deeper into our shared passion: running. At the heart of it, we’re exploring and celebrating the myriad reasons we embrace the sweat. The reasons vary – some days it’s about mental clarity, on others, it’s about inching closer to my Boston Qualifier aspirations. And then there are those days when the excitement of trying a new pair of running shoes or a trendy outfit fuels my run.

Recently, I’ve had the joy of exploring some fresh brands from Sport Chek’s collection. Here’s a sneak peek into some of the gear I’ve been flaunting on my runs:

  • Nike Air Zoom Structure 18
  • Nike Run 2N1 Short
  • New Balance Zante

And guess what? There’s more! Stay tuned for future posts where I unveil the rest of my exciting haul.

Although I’ve ventured away from my tried-and-true Mizuno favorites, these new additions have genuinely impressed me. I’ll offer a more detailed review after clocking in more miles with them. Despite my runs being a tad slower lately, these shoes have been nothing short of supportive. As marathon training is on the horizon, I’m allowing myself some grace and taking it easy on the pace. Yet, reverting to the sentiment from Sport Chek’s video: “If you put one foot in front of the other, you’re a runner.” Remember, it’s okay to have off days!

With the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon training kicking off soon, Sport Chek’s #SweatForThis campaign feels like the perfect prelude. Let’s unite, share our running tales, and our reasons to sweat using the hashtag #SweatForThis on Instagram and Twitter. Let’s harness the collective energy of the running community to inspire and uplift each other.

Here’s to embracing the joy of movement and to all of you for continually motivating me. Wishing you all a vibrant day and an even more exhilarating weekend! 🌱🏃‍♂️🌞
