Coffee date – January 2017

Hello again, dear readers! Welcome back to our monthly coffee chat where I spill the beans (pun intended) on all things me, last month. A big shout-out to Jess for lighting the spark for this series. Let’s dive in, shall we?

Sipping on: The bubbles from my Sparkling water! My new Healthy Hydration Kit graced me with a SodaStream, and now I’m jazzing up my daily hydration. It’s a well-known fact I’m not the best at consuming my daily water quota, especially during the frosty winter months. And yes, I confess: I often neglect carrying water during long runs, which isn’t the best move. But hey, this SodaStream is my new hydration buddy, making every sip a fizzy delight!

On my plate: Marathon training is afoot and boy, does it amplify my appetite! I felt this intensely during a recent date night at Mamaka’s Taverna in Toronto. Pro tip: If you ever visit, you absolutely must try their spanakopita. It’s heavenly!

Book corner: Mark Sutcliffe’s “Long Road to Boston” has been my literary companion. Borrowed from Jonathan, it’s been giving me my daily dose of inspiration. Perfect for those days when you need an extra nudge of motivation.

Can’t get enough of: Princeton, my forever obsession! It’s been a while since he’s graced the blog. Missed him? Here’s a snapshot for you!

Snapshot of the month: While I wasn’t behind the lens for this one, it’s undeniably my favorite memory captured in January.

January adventures: The month was brimming with not necessarily “cool,” but indeed unforgettable moments. Stay tuned, as I’ll be delving deeper into January’s escapades soon!

Internet gold: Nick’s Facebook share of the “I Hate Running” article had me nodding in agreement throughout. It’s a must-read for every runner, trust me.

Milestones: January saw me clocking a whopping 148.1 MILES (238.3 KILOMETRES)! Honestly, it’s a personal achievement. While I typically oscillate between the 100-125 mile range, this year began with a bang. I’ve been ramping up the distance, and now the goal is to fuse some speed into those runs. Cheers to faster strides in February!
